T.P. Mills Handmade

Each T.P. Mills Handmade putter reflects the shaping, finishing and design decisions of David Mills. Created in very limited numbers, every piece combines the character of handwork with the performance expected from a putter built to be played.

The Piece

The Sycamore Crocodile is an individually crafted SGSS mallet personally finished by David Mills. Its compact, rounded profile provides a substantial yet flowing appearance, while the hand-bent neck gives the putter a distinctive structure at address.

A torch-flamed finish creates shifting tones of blue, violet, bronze and silver across the head. Individually applied Crocodile stamping and visible handwork give the piece its own character, making it equally suited for play and collection.

Natural variations in color, stamping depth, spacing and surface texture are part of the handmade process and contribute to the identity of this individual putter.

surface finishing, paint fill and final inspection of this piece.

The Model Profile

The Sycamore presents a compact, rounded mallet profile with a broad rear section and a clean single alignment line. Its curved outline gives the head a substantial presence without appearing oversized at address.

The individually hand-bent neck creates a distinctive view over the ball and produces a toe-hang balance, making the Sycamore appropriate for golfers who prefer some natural face rotation rather than a fully face-balanced mallet.

Handmade Details

Material and Feel

Swiss German Stainless Steel, or SGSS, is selected for its machining quality, refined surface finish and distinctive visual character. In the Sycamore head, the material works together with the head geometry, face milling and finish to shape the sound and impact feedback.

The result is not defined by the material alone. Face pattern, head structure, shaft, grip and the golf ball all contribute to the final sensation at impact.

Finish

The torch-flamed finish creates a shifting combination of blue, violet, bronze and silver tones across the SGSS head. Because the surface is individually finished, the exact color distribution is unique to this putter.

As with any specialty finish, normal play may gradually produce visible wear in areas that contact the ground, ball or headcover. This is a natural characteristic of use rather than a defect.

Hand Stamping

The Crocodile pattern is created through individually applied hand stamps across selected areas of the head. Small differences in spacing, depth and alignment are natural results of the process and reinforce the individuality of the piece.

The pattern is both decorative and evidential—it allows the handwork to remain visible rather than disguising the putter as a uniform production piece.

The neck has been individually bent by hand to create the intended shaft position, address view and toe-hang balance. Subtle variations in its transitions and angles are part of the handmade construction.

Its unconventional geometry also gives the Sycamore a distinctive silhouette from both the address and cavity views.

Face Milling

The visible circular face-milling pattern is a defining part of the Sycamore’s impact surface. Its geometry works with the SGSS head to influence sound, feedback and the sensation of contact.

The milling also reinforces the visual identity of the handmade face, where machining and individually applied markings remain clearly visible.
